What to expect

We are proud to host COSMOS Wirral and invite mums, dads, and carers to come along and join both parents and professionals for open, friendly conversations about Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND within Wirral Council).

This is a chance to talk about improvements to local SEND services, hear about changes to support provided by the local authority, and ensure parent and carer voices are fed back to those who deliver services, including the local authority, elected members, and the NHS.

We’ll be covering common questions such as:

  • What are dyslexia and dyspraxia?
  • What is an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)?
  • What are autism and ADHD?
  • What mental health support is available?
  • Where can I go for help and support?
  • What is a SENCO?
  • What is speech and language support?

This is also a great opportunity to meet and connect with other parent carers of children with SEND in a supportive and welcoming space.

Refreshments will be provided, and children are very welcome to attend!
